No, lo.cafe did not end, neither did NotchNook. And neither did I.

My former lawyers, Jorge Henrique Nunes Pinto (OAB/SP 531.587) and Karine Rodrigues Kauffman (OAB/SP 429.386), are now the ones connected to the structure behind LO.CAFE LTDA (CNPJ 35.124.367/0001-00) and NotchNook — the project that my wife Laís and I built together.

We are publicly identifying the people involved because they have used our names, our work, and the companies we built while presenting themselves through assets connected to lo.cafe and NotchNook.

I am deeply sorry to everyone who lost access to NotchNook. That was not my decision. We will be restoring access to people affected by this as soon as we regain the ability to do so.

Where things stand

• No one associated with Jorge Henrique Nunes Pinto, Karine Rodrigues Kauffman, or Vieira Braga Advocacia (CNPJ 54.507.276/0001-90) is authorized to represent us, lo.cafe, NotchNook, or our interests.
• Jorge Henrique Nunes Pinto was formerly a partner and CFO of lo.cafe through our LLC. On the morning of July 15, 2026, Laís informed him that his access to lo.cafe's systems and operations had been revoked. He is no longer our lawyer, partner, or CFO.
• On July 17, 2026, I was removed from the company I founded, with my signature there in the company agreement. The corporate records now list Karine Rodrigues Kauffman through CETUX LAB TECNOLOGIA LTDA (CNPJ 64.376.133/0001-40) as the sole partner of lo.cafe. Why in the seven hells would I sign my own removal from the board?
• Later that same day, our customer base and subscribers vanished from our Stripe account, and social-media accounts connected to lo.cafe were taken over.
• Setapp blocked our account and payments. It is currently prioritizing the account presented by Jorge Henrique Nunes Pinto's side, which is using the lo.cafe name and the LO.CAFE LTDA corporate registration.
• Funds in the Stripe account that were expected to be paid out to my bank account — including payouts that had already been completed — were refunded.
• Because I was removed from lo.cafe's corporate registration, I have been cut off from the bank accounts and financial infrastructure connected to the company I founded with my wife. I cannot receive or use the income generated by my own efforts.
• Jorge Henrique Nunes Pinto is currently in the United States, making immediate legal action substantially harder for us at a time when we are already fighting simply to survive this emergency.
• While all this happens, my wife, our two cats, and I are losing the ability to meet our most basic needs. False and harmful claims are being spread using our names and the work we created, leaving us with fewer and fewer resources by the day.

I did not authorize any of this. We hold them responsible for the destruction and deprivation that followed. We are contesting these acts and will seek their reversal through every available channel.

This is a complex case. It will take legal, administrative, technical, financial work and time to undo the damage. But we are still here — and we are still creating.

Introducing NOOTCH and Hatter

So I want to introduce two beautiful things we are working on: NOOTCH and Hatter.

NOOTCH is our rebuilt and reimagined evolution of NotchNook. It implements its own HDR/EDR glass system shader, taking the liquid glass effect down to macOS 15 in case any user doesn't want to upgrade — and it's better than ever. Everyone with a NotchNook lifetime license will receive 90% off, and NotchNook will probably go open-source.

Hatter is honestly freaking awesome, lol. It's an OpenRouter proxy that, at this specific moment (much more features almost-ready), allows:

• The privilege to use an interface where every icon is animated (or not, if you enjoy the bitter side of life — tunable)
• 99% elimination (tunable) of input token costs by blessing your LLM with the fantastic human nature of actually forgetting stuff
• Full session management and monitoring, with live log
• Full, decent, delightful management of skills, workflows, and system prompts (yes, you can ditch stupid warnings), MCPs — it handles every MCP, from Docker-based MCPs to OAuth HTTP Streamable — different MCP group endpoints, and the list goes on
• Automatic backup, vectorizing, and querying for whole projects
• "Whos" — my stupid name for "Personas" with everything above
• Replaces MCP names, descriptions, and schemas with aliases so your AI doesn't [get overloaded — todo: finish this thought]
• A very, very nice animated status bar for Claude Code
• Magic — perhaps like a Cheshire Cat disappearing into the air 😸
• Probably self-hosted

We know we have been quiet for a long time. We were dedicating ourselves fully to another project we deeply believed in — and we will share more about it when we can — but this crisis has left us without the resources to keep building or even get through this moment.
